Whether you are in COLWYN BAY for just a few hours of shopping, or in the town on business, a day trip as a tourist, on holiday or a resident, then there are many things that you can find to do in the coastal town and surrounding areas of North Wales.
The town has many shops providing a range of clothing, hardware, electrical items, groceries and much more. The Bayview Shopping Centre provides a convenient, warm and dry indoor shopping venue. If you venture into the Victorian town there are a mixture of famous chain stores and privately owned independent businesses, for that more personal shopping experience. On Tuesdays and Saturdays many market traders descend on the towns streets to provide a colourful mix of goods, bargains and local produce.
There are a number of pubs, food outlets, cafes and restaurants catering for all tastes. Traditional British food is available at excellent prices at pubs such as The Picture House (Wetherspoons) and many of the towns long established cafes.
There is Italian, Chinese and Indian cuisine available at restaurants within the town as well as the British Classic – “Fish and Chips” at several restaurants including The Toad on the promenade.
There are many activities that can be pursued in Colwyn Bay including walking, (also dog walking), cycling, sea fishing – from both the beach and by boat, jet skiing and sailing and a range of sports at Eirias Park. If the weather is not so good then there are also indoor activities and entertainment at Theatr Colwyn and Colwyn Bay Leisure Centre.
The town has a well established theatre and cinema that offers a year round calendar of events from ballet to big-screen blockbusters.
On the first Bank Holiday in May the promenade at Rhos-on-Sea plays host to the Bay of Colwyn Promenade Day which is a whole day of music, entertainment and fun. There are many shows, stalls, rides and attractions to keep people of all ages amused.

Other activities include a trip to the Welsh Mountain Zoo or watching a match at Colwyn Bay Football Club.
The town has excellent links to surrounding areas by road and rail so is a fantastic base to explore nearby towns such as Rhos-on-Sea, Llandudno, Conwy, and slightly further away Rhyl or Bangor. The Conwy Valley is a short drive away offering spectacular scenery en-route to Betws-y-Coed, Snowdonia or even Mid Wales.

Colwyn Bay has plenty of outdoor entertainment at Eirias Park. Eirias Park has a boating lake, bowling green and tennis courts plus the superb Colwyn Bay Leisure Centre.
Eirias Park is open all year round and also plays host to the Colwyn Bowling Festival in July which is centred around Eirias Park and last year had prize money exceeding £5,500.

In November each year (weather permitting of course) the dazzling Colwyn Bay Fireworks Display is performed in Eirias Park which is organised by Bay of Colwyn Town Council.

Eirias Park is great for families. It covers 50 acres of beautiful parkland and features a boating lake, a model yacht pond, picnic areas, tennis courts, crown green bowls, pitch and putt golf, a sports stadium, a children’s adventure playground, Dan’s Den skateboard park and Colwyn Bay Leisure Centre.
The leisure centre offers swimming and lessons for all ages, fitness suite sessions and classes, exercise classes, casual athletics training, coached/supervised activities such as gymnastics, climbing, crèche, junior recreation and soft play sessions. There is also a climbing wall group and session with instructor. Other facilities and activities include the health suite, badminton/ short tennis and table tennis. There are also squash courts available as well as an all weather pitch ideal for 5-a-side football. The COLWYN BAY Leisure Centre also provides catering and facilities for hosting Birthday Parties.
