The town has many shops providing a range of clothing, hardware, electrical items, groceries and much more.  The Bayview Shopping Centre provides a convenient, warm and dry indoor shopping venue. If you venture into the Victorian town there are a mixture of famous chain stores and privately owned independent businesses, for that more personal shopping experience. On Tuesdays and Saturdays many market traders descend on the towns streets to provide a colourful mix of goods, bargains and local produce.

There are a number of pubs, food outlets, cafes and restaurants catering for all tastes.  Traditional British food is available at excellent prices at pubs such as The Picture House (Wetherspoons) and many of the towns long established cafes.

There is Italian, Chinese and Indian cuisine available at restaurants within the town as well as the British Classic – “Fish and Chips” at several restaurants including The Toad on the promenade.

There are many activities that can be pursued in Colwyn Bay including walking, (also dog walking), cycling, sea fishing – from both the beach and by boat, jet skiing and sailing and a range of sports at Eirias Park.  If the weather is not so good then there are also indoor activities and entertainment at Theatr Colwyn and Colwyn Bay Leisure Centre.

The town has a well established theatre and cinema that offers a year round calendar of events from ballet to big-screen blockbusters.

On the first Bank Holiday in May the promenade at Rhos-on-Sea plays host to the Bay of Colwyn Promenade Day which is a whole day of music, entertainment and fun. There are many shows, stalls, rides and attractions to keep people of all ages amused.

Other activities include a trip to the Welsh Mountain Zoo or watching a match at Colwyn Bay Football Club.

The town has excellent links to surrounding areas by road and rail so is a fantastic base to explore nearby towns such as Rhos-on-Sea, Llandudno, Conwy, and slightly further away Rhyl or Bangor.  The Conwy Valley is a short drive away offering spectacular scenery en-route to Betws-y-Coed, Snowdonia or even Mid Wales.

Eirias Park is great for families. It covers 50 acres of beautiful parkland and features a boating lake, a model yacht pond, picnic areas, tennis courts, crown green bowls, pitch and putt golf, a sports stadium, a children’s adventure playground, Dan’s Den skateboard park and Colwyn Bay Leisure Centre.

The leisure centre offers swimming and lessons for all ages, fitness suite sessions and classes, exercise classes, casual athletics training, coached/supervised activities such as gymnastics, climbing, crèche, junior recreation and soft play sessions. There is also a climbing wall group and session with instructor. Other facilities and activities include the health suite, badminton/ short tennis and table tennis. There are also squash courts available as well as an all weather pitch ideal for 5-a-side football. The COLWYN BAY Leisure Centre also provides catering and facilities for hosting Birthday Parties.

The premises were completely refurbished in 2003 so the dealership has a modern showroom, sells Parts and Accessories and has a workshop which offers Servicing, Repairs and MOT testing. The seafront landmark of Victoria Pier is a prominent fixture jutting out from the long promenade which runs along the whole bay. The prom links the towns and villages with a level walkway & cycle route alongside the picturesque coast road which affords ample free parking. Visitors and residents can take in the views, access the sandy beach, jet ski, launch pleasure craft, do a spot of fishing or take it easy and relax with a picnic or a drink, ice-cream or light snack at one of the kiosks located along the prom.

Colwyn Bay has excellent travel links as it is located on the main route between London and Dublin. It has a mainline station in the centre of town and has the A55 Expressway running past with several junctions leading into the town. Victoria Pier is located at the promenade in the centre of the bay close to COLWYN BAY railway station. Future developments are planned to regenerate the Victorian Pier, the promenade, and some areas of the town near the railway station. The planned regeneration of the area will benefit the town hugely as a tourist location.  Aesthetically pleasing structures will be welcomed by local residents and businesses of Colwyn Bay to compliment the sandy beaches and excellent scenery which the North Wales coast has to offer visitors in the area.

Set in North Wales overlooking COLWYN BAY is a 37 acre zoological garden known as the Welsh Mountain Zoo.  The conservation zoo was founded in 1963 by wildlife expert and naturalist Robert Jackson.

The Welsh Mountain Zoo provides a great day out for people of all ages.  As well as spending the day enjoying great views overlooking the town, stunning scenery and strolling along wooded pathways there is the chance to learn about and experience exotic, rare and endangered species. The Welsh Mountain Zoo is home to all types of creatures ranging from Snow Leopards and Sumatran Tigers to Penguins, Chimpanzees and Californian Sealions.

There are various activity and educational areas such as the Jungle Adventureland and Tarzan Trail Adventure Playground as well as the Children’s Farm.  There is also the chance to visit the Media Centre for a virtual tour of the Zoo and to play some great educational games.

Established in 1881 COLWYN BAY FC (Football Club) has been representing the town in football fixtures across the UK.

The Seagulls ground is located on Llanelian Road and has a Capacity of 2500 (403 Seats).  The record attendance at a home match was 5000 when the Bay played Borough United at Eirias Park in 1964.

The facilities at the football ground include a club lounge with licensed bar which serves alcoholic & non-alcoholic drinks and has a big screen which shows sports results during matchdays.  There is also a snack bar which sells hot and cold snacks and a club shop which sells official club merchandise.
